Thursday is Thanksgiving in the U.S. As is my wont at this time of year, I offer a post of thanks.
I’m thankful first for Jen, Lady D., and the Knights, who make my life richer and better. I’m thankful for a great day job, especially so given the state of this economy. I know many folks are struggling, that many are under- or unemployed, and if you’re one of those folks, you have my sincere sympathy. I hope things turn around for you very soon. And finally, I’m thankful to the reviewers and readers who read my stories and make the writing gig possible. I don’t get big marketing pushes behind my novels (well, except the Star Wars books, and that’s not a marketing push of my novels per se, just the marketing juggernaut behind Star Wars generally), yet even my non-Star Wars novels sell net 50K units, which isn’t half bad in this market. How does that happen? That happens because reviewers take the time to thoughtfully review the books, because readers buy them, talk about them, and recommend them to friends and family. For that, you have my sincere thanks. 🙂
So, for those of you who celebrate Thanksgiving, I hope you have a great holiday. For those of you who don’t, I hope you have the best Thursday ever. 🙂
Happy Thanksgiving to you too Paul! Besides special Thanks for your stories that take all of us to special and exciting places, I also feel compelled to give thanks to all of our current and past Armed forces service members. They do so much for all of us. For those deployed I’ll say a special Thank You offering over our family dinner. Have a great Thanksgiving everyone.
