Myself and a whole slew of other speculative fiction writers have gotten together to create a huge, multi-genre, multi-author book giveaway contest. We’re calling it Crossing the Streams and here’s how it works:
Each author involved is running a contest on his/her own site. The specific details vary from author to author, so the particulars of the contest I’m running may differ somewhat from the particulars on another author’s site.
But each contest has a few details in common. Each of us will select two winners from the contest on our own site, and each of those winners will receive one signed book, free, from the author whose contest they won. So, for instance, if you win here, you’ll win one of my books. If you win on Ari’s site, you’ll win one of his, etc.
But there’s a bigger prize. At the end of February, once the contests on the individual sites have ended, all the authors involved will get together and choose one single “super-winner” from all the entries on all our sites combined. This winner receive a signed book, free, from each and every one of the authors involved. That’s a lot of cool books to win, baby.
You can only enter each author’s contest once, but you may enter multiple contests. So you could enter here, on Matt’s site, on Jason’s site, etc. In fact, you can enter on everyone’s site, if you want. (And even if you aren’t selected as the “super winner,” you might win more than one of the individual contests. You never know.)
You can find a complete list of the authors involved, as well as links to their sites, below. But first…
How to Enter
Remember, these are just the rules for my contest. The rules for entry on other authors’ sites might be very different.
But for me, it’s really simple — Just leave a comment to this post (and please make sure your name or username is reasonably distinct). That’s it. Easy peasy.
I will select two winners by random draw at the end of the month (and of course, everyone who enters is also in the running for the random “super-winner” selection), and those two winners can choose any one of my books(Forgotten Realms, Star Wars, or even an ARC of The Hammer and the Blade, if the winner is willing to wait a bit). I’ll sign the books so chosen (personalizing as requested) and ship them off.
The Rest of the Lineup
As I said, there are over a dozen of us involved in this. You can find names and links below (in no particular order). And hey, when you check out the various contest pages, browse around the author sites and have a look at their books. These are talented storytellers and there’s bound to be something there you’ll enjoy.

I’m always a fan of contests, moreso when they’re the cross-author promotion kind.
This one was easy!
Awesome contest. Even if I don’t win literacy does, so it’s still a win 😉
I like the idea of this. Something a little different.
This is very cool! Time to go check out a bunch of new authors!
Very Cool! Count me in, maybe I’ll get lucky this time:-).
This has a nice coolishness factor.
Sweet contest, would be nice to win.
Count me in!
Really cool contest idea. Great way to try new authors.
Thanks for the opportunity! @Lunachique
Awesome idea. I loved deceived and plan to try some of your other titles.
Thanks, Dingle.
This is an awesome contest. You have become one of my favorite star wars authors and cant wait to read more of your books. Especially the secretive star wars duology 🙂
Thank you, John.
Nice collection! Hope to win 🙂
This is awesome, I guess I know what websites I am visiting this afternoon.
“With your powers combined you are Captain Fiction.”

Thanks for taking part in this contest. I have a feeling it will introduce me to a lot of great new (to me) authors!
I don’t think you could make it any simpler. 🙂
I must say Thank You for the contest and the chance to win reading material that no doubt will be promising. I am an aspiring writer trying to observe and study the craft of story telling. As I walk the path of a young words smith; I hope to one day entertain you and return the favor as well. Keep up the great work Grand Masters…!
Sounds about right.
This is a great idea, I’m always looking for new authors. I’m in the middle of Riptide right now and am loving it by the way!
Very glad to hear that, Brian.
Awesome stuff!
Good way to learn about some new (to me) authors. One ARC of the Kemp please.
I need to read “Deceived.” I am playing a Sith Marauder in SW:TOR right now and LOVING it!
First off (in case you didn’t read it in the other 78 posts ahead of mine), this is a great idea to get to know other writers. Second, thanks for giving us all an opportunity to come out ahead by simply enjoying all of your great works. No, I’m not brown-nosing. 😉
Awesome contest!!
Here’s my kriffing entry!
Also, this is a pretty interesting contest idea. I don’t think I’ve seen one handled this way before. 😀
Thank you so much! Even if I don’t win I do now have a new book to put on my wishlist! Hammer and the Blade shall be mine…sometime in the future XD
Crossing the Streams is a wonderful idea to introduce wonderful authors.
Nice contest. Even if I don’t win, thanks for introducing me to some new authors.
Very cool idea
Consider the streams crossed, thanks for the fun.
It is really great that so many authors are coming together to make this happen for the people who truly enjoy the stories you have to share. We thank you.
What a great idea. I’ve hit about 10 or so of the other author’s sites and my list of “books to download” keeps getting longer. Now I just need to find a way to pay for them all! Thanks.
Somewhat funny/eye catching comment:
“High-five a moose for me.”
Serious comment:
Thanks for the contest!
That is truly easy…”a comment”. Thank you for this contest.
What an exciting prospect! Also a great way to find new authors.
This contest is a great idea. I will definitely take a look at the authors I don’t know.
I love that you run these contests Paul.
Great contest idea. Please count me in!
Belting idea – not that my wife would appreciate MORE books in the house – so a double win!
Give me books!!!
