Star Wars news roundup

A few items for those interested in my Star Wars fiction.

First, the release date for Star Wars: Riptide, the sequel to Star Wars: Crosscurrent, has been moved from July 26 to September 27. I think this was done to space out the release from other Star Wars releases. Works for me. 🙂

Second, I believe (but am not 100% certain) that my short story featuring Darth Malgus, one of the key characters from Star Wars: The Old Republic: Deceived will appear in Star Wars Insider #124.  The story is a short tale that adds some insight into Malgus’s past and mindset.

Third, the blurb for Deceived has hit Amazon.  Here it is:

The second novel set in the Old Republic era and based on the massively multiplayer online game Star Wars®: The Old Republic™ ramps up the action and brings readers face-to-face for the first time with a Sith warrior to rival the most sinister of the Order’s Dark Lords—Darth Malgus, the mysterious, masked Sith of the wildly popular “Deceived” and “Hope” game trailers.

Malgus brought down the Jedi Temple on Coruscant in a brutal assault that shocked the galaxy. But if war crowned him the darkest of Sith heroes, peace would transform him into something far more heinous—something Malgus would never want to be, but cannot stop, any more than he can stop the rogue Jedi fast approaching.

Her name is Aryn Leneer—and the lone Knight that Malgus cut down in the fierce battle for the Jedi Temple was her Master. And now she’s going to find out what happened to him, even if it means breaking every rule in the book.

Now, if you’re not regular reader of Star Wars fiction but are otherwise inclined to read Deceived, you’re in luck.  The book is set in the Old Republic era (long before the events of the movies and the post-movie events chronicled in the bulk of Expanded Universe fiction) and does not require comprehensive knowledge of Star Wars history to enjoy.  If you know who the Jedi and Sith are, and what the Force is, you’re good to go.  And if you like my style generally, I think you’ll like Deceived.  Links to the first three chapters of the novel are here, if you’d like to give the book a test drive.

  2. I hope Deceived comes out in mobi (Kindle) format! I would like to read Crosscurrent but I am not buying paper books any more.
