Full Synopsis of Lords of the Sith

LordsoftheSithI’ve been very quiet, I know.  I’m swamped with non-writing related activities.

Meanwhile, here’s the full synopsis of my next Star Wars novel, Lords of the Sith.  I like it!

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. . . .

When the Emperor and his notorious apprentice, Darth Vader, find themselves stranded in the middle of insurgent action on an inhospitable planet, they must rely on each other, the Force, and their own ruthlessness to prevail.

“It appears things are as you suspected, Lord Vader. We are indeed hunted.”

Anakin Skywalker, Jedi Knight, is just a memory. Darth Vader, newly anointed Sith Lord, is ascendant. The Emperor’s chosen apprentice has swiftly proven his loyalty to the dark side. Still, the history of the Sith Order is one of duplicity, betrayal, and acolytes violently usurping their Masters—and the truest measure of Vader’s allegiance has yet to be taken. Until now.

On Ryloth, a planet crucial to the growing Empire as a source of slave labor and the narcotic known as “spice,” an aggressive resistance movement has arisen, led by Cham Syndulla, an idealistic freedom fighter, and Isval, a vengeful former slave. But Emperor Palpatine means to control the embattled world and its precious resources—by political power or firepower—and he will be neither intimidated nor denied. Accompanied by his merciless disciple, Darth Vader, he sets out on a rare personal mission to ensure his will is done.

For Syndulla and Isval, it’s the opportunity to strike at the very heart of the ruthless dictatorship sweeping the galaxy. And for the Emperor and Darth Vader, Ryloth becomes more than just a matter of putting down an insurrection: When an ambush sends them crashing to the planet’s surface, where inhospitable terrain and an army of resistance fighters await them, they will find their relationship tested as never before. With only their lightsabers, the dark side of the Force, and each other to depend on, the two Sith must decide if the brutal bond they share will make them victorious allies or lethal adversaries.

  2. This will be probably the first book I’ve purchased in years (not counting audio books). The art looks wonderful, and the synopsis is intriguing. Do you know, will there be an audiobook version of this? Regardless, can’t wait to purchase and give this a read.

    • To see the dynamic between Sidious and Vader in a tension based environment besides from what we’ve seen in film and in books such as Tarkin will be amazing I’m sure. I’m hoping there are some Dark Side lore we will learn also. 🙂 Excited!

      • Woo! Can’t wait. Will be buying both the book and the audiobook. 🙂 Do you do any type of autographing service or autographing bookstore tours? Would love to have the hard cover book autographed.

        • Neil, I always do an esigning with new releases. Basically, all it means is that readers Paypal me for the book and shipping and I send them a signed book. Watch this space for the announcement.

  3. Personally I am so excited about this novel. It was weird because I went onto my yahoo home page and the first thing that pops up is an article about this book and the LGBT character in it. Honestly the bickering I’ve seen has been ridiculous and I for one am so excited about this book. Crosscurrent, Riptide and Deceived were all excellent. When you think about it too all this buzz surrounding the novel, good or bad, is mostly a good think in my opinion. I think buzz promotes sales so I hope it sells well. Even so i’ll be a day one buyer.

    • Essentially all bickering on the internet is ridiculous. I find that when I keep that in mind, it’s easier to stay amused rather than disgusted. 🙂

      • I could not agree more Paul. I have a feeling this book is going to sell really well. Now I am not sure if I am even allowed to ask about this but are there any more Star Wars books coming from you in the future? I know I know you probably cannot answer but I had to at least try. You and Zahn have been the top authors to tackle Star Wars fiction in my opinion and your Star Wars books made get into all your other series. I know Del Ray came out and announced a series of novels and comics all centered around the journey to The Force Awakens and I was wondering if you were involved in it in any capacity???
