Drawing to win a signed copy of The Godborn: A Discourse in Godborn

Sharing is caring!

the-godborn-paul-s-kemp-the-sundering_zps128cff27As some of you know, this is a big year for me when it comes to new releases.  A Discourse in Steel, the second tale of Egil and Nix, drops in about two months (see that countdown ticker over to the right?), and The Godborn, my next Forgotten Realms novel, book II of The Sundering, will release in October. So I said to myself:  Self, how can you give away some signed copies of The Godborn and connect it to your other release this year, A Discourse in Steel, and do it in some really cynical way?  And then I had my answer.

The Contest

I’m going to give away five (5) signed copies of The Godborn in hardcover format.

ADiscourseInSteel-largeWho Can Enter

The contest is open to everyone worldwide but enter only once, and please, please, please note the following before you enter:  I’ll cover the shipping cost for U.S. addressees, but if you live outside the US, I’ll ask you to cover the difference (via Paypal) between the US shipping price ($6.00USD), and whatever it costs to ship where you’re located.  Apologies for that, but if I don’t do it that way, shipping costs have the potential to creep up a bit more than I’d like, especially with five books going out.   Also note that I’ll ship the signed copies at or around the release date for The Godborn(October 1).  Winners won’t get their copy early (or, if you do, it’ll be a day or two early, depending on when I get some copies from WotC).  They will, however, get a signed copy for free.  Or almost for free.  See below.

How to Enter

I mentioned I was going to tie my two releases together, yes?  I believe I did. So, to enter the giveaway, buy A Discourse in Steel and send some evidence of the purchase to my email address at paulsvantekemp@yahoo.com.  Include your name and address in the email. If you’ve already pre-ordered Discourse (and I know many of you have), that counts and that’s awesome.  Thank you.  Just dredge up the online receipt and send it in the email along with the other info.

Confession.

Now, I realize you’re all quite bright and know exactly what I’m doing here, but I’m happy to own up to it explicitly:  The Godborn is likely to sell far more copies than A Discourse in Steel, so I’m trying with this contest to convince some of you who are my Realms readers but not (yet) my Egil and Nix readers, to give the boys from Dur Follin a go.   Besides, the tales of Egil and Nix will give you something to read while you wait for The Godborn.

When Should You Enter?

The contest starts right….NOW, and will remain open until the release date of A Discourse in Steel, which is June 25th, when I’ll announce the winners.

I hope you’ll enter and look forward to hearing from you.  🙂

Bald+hammers = Egil
Sly+blade = Nix

  1. I am semi-patiently awaiting the release of The Godborn. A Discourse in Steel will be my first read of your works not based in the Forgotten Realms. I am looking forward to it.

  2. I like this contest idea! I’ll pass it along to some friends too if you don’t mind, sir.

        • Oh, indeed. Send me the receipt or a screenshot or something of the purchased ebook of Discourse, and you’re in for a drawing of the hardcover of The Godborn.

  3. Paul, will there be a Kindle version of A Discourse in Steel? It’s not showing up on Amazon (UK) yet. I’ve already bought and read the Kindle version of The Hammer and the Blade and enjoyed it tremendously!

    • I’m sure there will be, Simon. Just some delay in getting the listing up, I imagine. 🙂
