Myself and a whole slew of other speculative fiction writers have gotten together to create a huge, multi-genre, multi-author book giveaway contest. We’re calling it Crossing the Streams and here’s how it works:
Each author involved is running a contest on his/her own site. The specific details vary from author to author, so the particulars of the contest I’m running may differ somewhat from the particulars on another author’s site.
But each contest has a few details in common. Each of us will select two winners from the contest on our own site, and each of those winners will receive one signed book, free, from the author whose contest they won. So, for instance, if you win here, you’ll win one of my books. If you win on Ari’s site, you’ll win one of his, etc.
But there’s a bigger prize. At the end of February, once the contests on the individual sites have ended, all the authors involved will get together and choose one single “super-winner” from all the entries on all our sites combined. This winner receive a signed book, free, from each and every one of the authors involved. That’s a lot of cool books to win, baby.
You can only enter each author’s contest once, but you may enter multiple contests. So you could enter here, on Matt’s site, on Jason’s site, etc. In fact, you can enter on everyone’s site, if you want. (And even if you aren’t selected as the “super winner,” you might win more than one of the individual contests. You never know.)
You can find a complete list of the authors involved, as well as links to their sites, below. But first…
How to Enter
Remember, these are just the rules for my contest. The rules for entry on other authors’ sites might be very different.
But for me, it’s really simple — Just leave a comment to this post (and please make sure your name or username is reasonably distinct). That’s it. Easy peasy.
I will select two winners by random draw at the end of the month (and of course, everyone who enters is also in the running for the random “super-winner” selection), and those two winners can choose any one of my books(Forgotten Realms, Star Wars, or even an ARC of The Hammer and the Blade, if the winner is willing to wait a bit). I’ll sign the books so chosen (personalizing as requested) and ship them off.
The Rest of the Lineup
As I said, there are over a dozen of us involved in this. You can find names and links below (in no particular order). And hey, when you check out the various contest pages, browse around the author sites and have a look at their books. These are talented storytellers and there’s bound to be something there you’ll enjoy.

Who wouldn’t want a signed copy by the hack himself
I’m commenting on this page to say a few things. the first is of course to say that I wish to enter the contest.
The second is to say that whoever thought this up had a great idea. When this contest started, I knew only very few of the authors involved. Now, I know all of them. Amazing publicity, that.
Third, it’s very heartening, as a man who wants to join the ranks of SF/Fantasy writers, to see that there are so many out there, making a living doing what I love to do.
Such a great idea for a contest – I’ve been following along and discovering (or rediscovering) a few authors as I go.
Hope i am not to late
Particularly like your Forgotten Realms stuff, Paul. Cant wait to read more.
Thanks, Seth.
lets go The Hammer and the Blade!
Doesn’t hurt to try.
I love your stories.
Delayed entering for far too long, hope i can nab some awesome books
This is awesome.
I love your books. Drasek Rules!
Pick me! I want to be a winner.
this contest is awesome!
Hey Paul, looking forward to the new novel though do you know the release date for down here in Australia?
You mean THE HAMMER AND THE BLADE? I believe the June 26th release is worldwide, so it should be down under around then.
How about: Paul, you rock. Your engaging stories filled with honest (in the believable, non-moral sense) characters are only outdone by your willingness to interact with and please your fans!
Thanks, Sam. 🙂
Here I go!
I love your Forgotten Realms books. If I don’t have them as paper copy, I definitely have them in ebook, sometimes both!
Any possibility of more Erevis Cale?
Harold,
GODBORN is the next novel in the Cale/Riven/Rivalen story arc. News on it forthcoming soon.
The Hammer and the Blade sounds like it will be great. I’m looking forward to it.
Thank you for the chance to win!
Thanks, Mary Ellen. I can’t wait for it to hit shelves.
This is really a great contest.
Erevis Cale was one of my favorite FR antiheroes when I started reading DnD shared worlds novels and he still is. Great stuff.
How exciting!! 🙂
Wonderful idea for how to do a giveaway. Looking forward to your next book
I’m loving this contest! All the authors have such different, but still quite similar, contests so each one is taking just a little of thought, which is nice. Thanks for being part of this!
Woot! Random default win FTW!
It doesn’t hurt to try….:)
This is such a great contest. Thanks for holding it.
So grateful that authors can come together like this and create awesome contests for readers! Great way to discover new authors as well!

You and me both, brother. 🙂
But can I cross the same stream twice?
Hi, Paul. Regardless of whether I win this contest, I’ve discovered some great new authors to read, you being one of them.
Thanks, Keith. Much appreciated. 🙂
Great idea. Really enjoy your forgotten realms and star wars novels. The hammer andt he blade looks like another great novel, can’t wait to read it.
Thank you, LiP.
Heres to entertaining some Kathy Bates esq. thoughts if I dont get to read Godborn soon. LOL Just kidding but seriously love Ervis Cale series.
Heck yeah I’m leaving a comment on this post! 🙂 And nice to meet you in the contest!
Thanks for be involved in such a great contest!
Dalek peered over at the cast of bones noting the double waves. He “harumphed” to himself at Krat’s constant obsession at having to throw futures and then chastised himself for taking interest. Stones and bones was there some element of his mind wandering about lost.
He turned back to the edge of the rushing water and gazed at the far bank where another stream fed the unending appetite of whitecaps – a crossing of streams. Maybe there was something in the foretelling of the double waves. Perhaps new opportunities and adventures awaited them despite which stream they followed.
Love the idea for this contest.
As many have said, this seems too easy. I’m not about to complain, though.
Hi Paul, pick me, pick me! LOL

I love your work. I’ve never read Star Wars before. I want to buy one of your Star Wars books. Which one should I get first?
Tracy,
Thank you. I’d suggest DECEIVED. 🙂
I can’t wait for your new Egil & Nix book. No, really, send me the manuscript right now 😉
Whoever thought up the idea for this giveaway is a genius.
Also, I like to believe that your entry requirements are simple in order to make up for the very not-simple P90X. 😛
Regardless: I can’t get enough of this guy’s writing, so yay! Entering!
