Round up of Deceived Reviews

Deceived reviews are cropping up all over, so I thought I’d gather several of them here. I’m more than a little pleased that the novel is being so well received. One of the interesting, and challenging, things about writing a Star Wars novel is that the readership is so vast, and the tastes/expectations of the readers so diverse, that any novel is bound to disappoint some subset of readers. It’s unfortunate, but so it goes.… Read the rest

Bookday for Deceived and new reviews

Well, today’s the day.  Deceived hits shelves, and/or hits your Kindle or Nook or eReader.  I hope you’ll pick it up.  And if you do, I hope you enjoy it.  There are lots of reviews on Amazon (from Vine Program participants) to give you a sense of what readers think of the novel.   And reviews are starting to hit the net in other venues, too.  Here are links to a couple of early ones.

Interview on Fictional Frontiers

Today at 5PM EST, my podcast interview with Sohaib on Fictional Frontiers will go live.  Most likely, I said silly things.  It’s possible, however, that I said a thing or two worth hearing.  We talked a lot about Deceived, but used that as a springboard for discussion of some broader writing-related issues.  I hope you’ll have a listen.

Meanwhile, Deceived will be released on the morrow.  Big day for the Paulman.   I hope you’ll … Read the rest

C2E2 Schedule

I will be at C2E2 (the Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo) on March 18th and 19th.  I believe Del Rey will have copies of Deceived on sale at the Expo, so you can get a copy a few days prior to the actual release date, if you’re so inclined.  Here’s my schedule:

Friday, March 18th

11:30-12:30 — Book signing at Random House booth #600. I’m happy to sign copies of Deceived, Crosscurrent, the … Read the rest

Deceived e-signing

As usual with a new release, I’ll be doing an e-signing for Deceived.  Fortunately, I have my executive assistant, Kaul Pemp, to run the whole thing, so it’s not like it’s additional work for me.  🙂

So if you’re interested in a signed hardcover first edition of Deceived, Kaul can make that happen.

If you live in the United States, just Paypal $27USD to me (my paypal account is the same as my … Read the rest

Why Obi-Wan is not Qui-Gon is not Anakin

From time to time, I’ll see a reader of Star Wars fiction give a longsuffering digital sigh, cock a jaded eye at all the newbies on the board/list/whatever, and say, “Oh, geez.  Another Star Wars novel with Jedi and Sith.  I’m just, you know, so sick of the whole Jedi-Sith thing.  And you would be too, if you were only as well-read as me.  What I want is a Star Wars novel about how hard … Read the rest

Star Wars news roundup

A few items for those interested in my Star Wars fiction.

First, the release date for Star Wars: Riptide, the sequel to Star Wars: Crosscurrent, has been moved from July 26 to September 27. I think this was done to space out the release from other Star Wars releases. Works for me. 🙂

Second, I believe (but am not 100% certain) that my short story featuring Darth Malgus, one of the key characters … Read the rest
